Kenny Likitprakong formed the Hobo Wine Company in 2002. It now has five labels under its umbrella including Camp, Folk Machine, Make Work, Banyan and, of course, Hobo.
Vineyard: High magnesium volcanic with older vines.
Farming: Practicing organic.
Vinification: Co-fermented in open tops with 30% whole cluster. Aged in French oak puncheons (one new barrel) for 16 months.
Tasting Note: Fresh cherries, licorice and a hint of spice with light tannins and a lengthy finish.
Food Pairing: Roast beef, fennel sausage, roasted red peppers.
Drinkability: Now and over the next five years.
