Zinfandel (92%), Petite Sirah (8%), 13.4% alcohol
Kenny Likitprakong formed the Hobo Wine Company in 2002. It now has five labels under its umbrella including Camp, Folk Machine, Make Work, Banyan and, of course, Hobo.
Vineyard: Sourced from different sites in Dry Creek. Gravelly clay.
Farming: Practicing organic.
Vinification: Plots vinified separately and blended after the first racking in February 2015. Aged in French and American oak including 7% new barrels.
Tasting Note: Moderately rich and tannic with a mouthful of fresh blackberries.
Food Pairing: Grilled steak, barbecued tempeh.
Drinkability: Now and over the next year or two.
