Julia Weber

Ramaytush Ohlone Land - San Francisco

Julia Weber is a wine enthusiast with a deep commitment to social justice and designing and implementing effective policies around eliminating bias and supporting equity. Her career includes co-founding a sexual harassment support and advocacy project that assisted employees navigating workplace violence and discrimination, mediating family law and organizational conflicts, teaching university courses on race, gender, law and domestic violence, and developing policy nationally addressing gender-based violence and gun violence prevention. Julia is also part of an autobiographical storytelling community and the artist who created The Vinguard's pin and magnet. She enjoys traveling to spend time with food and wine producers and learning about, promoting, and consuming natural wine.

"Wine brings so many of my interests together and is endlessly fascinating: the stories that go along with what we are drinking; understanding the depth of the hard work, problem-solving, and values of the winemakers; and the decisions that are made throughout the process that provide opportunities to consider equity and sustainability - and of course, all the joy and meaning that comes with sharing wine as part of celebrations, rituals, and milestones."
