Tamara Wheeler
Ramaytush, Ohlone, Muwekma land – San Francisco, CA
Tamara has led integrated marketing and fundraising programs across a variety of regional and national non-profits in the U.S. and Canada. She's worked in the philanthropic sector for the past 20+ years with causes such as Food Banks, dozens of homeless shelters, Mercy Corps, World Vision, the American Cancer Society, Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, and The Nature Conservancy, among others.
Tamara finds deep meaning and purpose in helping charities share their inspiring stories. The best part of her job is the privilege of helping everyday people find ways to support organizations that meet their passions and interests, whether locally or globally. Tamara has spent 20 years volunteering on nonprofit Boards where she has lent her professional expertise and personal connections to find new supporters, devise strategic plans, and partner with staff to identify ways organizations can better engage and connect with constituents.
She’s a patron of the visual and performing arts and enjoys culinary experiences of all kinds. She still has never yet met a cheese she didn't like yet. Originally a graphic designer, Tamara realized she preferred influencing strategy and engaging with people more than screens and wanted to work for brands that truly change the world. Originally from LA, Tamara recently returned to the Bay Area with her husband Jon who hated being a remote employee. They live in Potrero Hill.
